Crystalbrook Collection Enjoys Success with Suites Strategy

Crystalbrook Collection is a portfolio of seven distinctive hotels and resorts that aspire to protect the environment and create sustainable experiences that enhance, rather than compromise the guest experience. 

The sustainably led, independent hotel group focuses on delivering playful design, responsible tourism initiatives, and enriching experiences at its properties in Cairns, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Newcastle, and Sydney.

 

In 2022, it added to its sustainability initiatives by introducing ‘Meet Mindfully’ - a cleaner, slower, more conscious way to travel and gather for meetings and events. Local highlights include guided sound healing at Crystalbrook Byron, local gin blending at Crystalbrook Kingsley, and beehive workshops at Crystalbrook Riley.

Keeping Distribution Channels Open

Crystalbrook Collection has been working with Duetto since 2017. Darryl Elliott, Director, Revenue Management, joined the company in 2021 and was immediately impressed with our Open Pricing methodology.

“I was excited at what would take a fair bit of time to achieve through yielding rates within the PMS with length of stay controls, close-outs, etc., was as simple as setting strategies within Duetto and the system just makes it happen,” he said.

“Open Pricing allows you to keep all distribution channels open, without sacrificing rate or length of stay by setting pricing rules by rate code, room type, and segment,” he added.

Creative Packages

Open Pricing has enabled Elliott and the team to get more creative with packages and overall revenue strategy.

Crystalbrook Collection is using Open Pricing to not only optimize rates during high-demand periods but to also drive buy-up into higher room categories on low-demand periods by decreasing discounts.

The results have been an increase in revenue across all segments, with particular success in selling suites.

“We have seen great results across all segments; however, the standout has been our suites across the hotels and resorts. We changed our strategy to look at the demand forecast by segment and room type to maximize our revenue potential,” Elliott explained.
