Learn. Innovate. Have an Impact.

We work with thousands of hotels to ingest a wealth of data, including hundreds of millions of search events, reservations, and market pricing. Every day, we take on the challenge of utilizing deep-learning algorithms to optimize revenue, reporting and e-commerce for an industry in need of innovation.

A High Caliber Team

“We ask a lot of our developers: to be great software engineers, but to be product managers as well, to have an opinion, to understand our domain and then to work kindly and well together”

Hard-Coded Values

Scale

Our clusters of MongoDB nodes house all of our data. We’re always working on scaling both our ETL architecture to support the ingesting and publishing of all of this data, as well as our query architecture to quickly provide actionable insights, all in a streamlined UI built with React and other modern UI frameworks. We continue to explore other technologies, including a Haskell service that serves rates in under 10 milliseconds.

Speed

On your first day, you’ll have the core application running on your local machine. In your first week, you’ll have shipped code to production. We believe in delivering frequently and iterating with customers to provide the best experience possible.

icon-mentor

Mentorship

Our team includes senior engineers from some of the top companies in the world. Our co-founder and CTO is Craig Weissman, the ex-CTO of Salesforce who helped build the multi-tenant architecture that powers Salesforce today. He’ll be one of several senior engineers reviewing your code. We encourage learning from each other and switching teams periodically to work in different parts of our stack and learn continuously.

icon-balance

Work-Life Balance

Continual product releases keep the office busy, but it’s not a boiler room. Team members have flexibility and autonomy to complete projects, and they’re as comfortable gathering for lunch every day as for coding scrums. You’ll get feedback on your work after frequent demos, and the whole team celebrates at release parties and outings throughout the year.

icon-diversity

Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity means more than just a variety of backgrounds. Our tight-knit team values collaboration and leverages the experience and the opinions of every member in order to surface better ideas for product development.

My primary reason for wanting to join Duetto was the company’s culture and people. I sensed they were all very intelligent engineers in a down-to-earth, relaxed environment. I foresee us going far, because Duetto already has a global presence despite still being a startup.

Your managers take a lot of consideration in your interests and the kind of work you’d like to do. If you have any ideas, they’re very supportive.

I like working in the front end of the application, so my favorite project so far was updating the UI for the settings and the app picker.

It’s a relaxed, open atmosphere with a flat organizational structure — no offices or walls. That makes everyone feel like they have a voice and an opinion that will be respected and heard.

We’re already a global company, but we’ve kep that small, startup vibe. We have offices in different countries, time zones and regions, and yet we’re still able to maintain a close-knit relationship with everyone.

Redesigning our product look and feel. Working with a talented R&D team made this project a huge success. We fully rebranded the UX to reflect the suite of products we now offer, having gone from one product to four in a short period of time.

The company’s approach to tech debt. There’s a focus on new feature work, but the company recognizes the need for refactoring and actually does it. But I also liked the friendly atmosphere of Duetto’s “lunch culture,” where we’re always eating lunch together every day.

People are empowered much more here than anywhere else I’ve worked. We have ownership of the features we develop from start to finish. I think this really fuels the mind-set of always looking to make things better, from the tech stack to design patterns in the code itself.

Even before I worked on a lot of projects, I got to enjoy going to the Redis conference user conference and evaluating the technology to see if it would fit in our stack.

I came into the company knowing very little about Duetto, but I liked the interview process and believed in the people, the product vision and the culture enough to join.

We all bring in the skill set and experience from working at major tech companies, and we combine that with the drive, energy and innovation of a startup culture. I think this makes it a great environment to work on impactful projects and to grow, and it’s just exciting to be a part of!

Our BlockBuster app. I’ve seen it evolve since its inception, which is pretty awesome. It’s still an active, ongoing project that I’m excited to work on.
