Virtual Event
Building a business case for hotel technology investment
Wednesday, September 2, 2026
Virtual Event
Budget season isn't about buying more tech. It's about who wins the argument for the same dollar.
Every year, revenue and marketing build separate cases for the same budget, and both walk into the room speaking a different language to the people who sign off. That's not a funding problem. That's a planning problem.
Join Duetto, Triptease and L+R for a live session on why revenue strategy and marketing investment should be planned together, not pitched separately and hoped into alignment.
Date: Wednesday, September 2 , 2026
Duration: 45 minutes
Time: 3:00 p.m. CEST
What you’ll learn:
-
- What's actually driving budget scrutiny this year: Why ownership and boards are asking harder questions of revenue and marketing leaders than they have in previous cycles, and what that means for how you build your case.
- How to build an investment case that survives the room: The difference between a case that gets funded and one that gets sent back for "more detail," and how to close that gap before you present.
- Why pricing and marketing decisions should never be made in isolation: A real example of what happens when demand signals and booking decisions talk to each other, and why "connected" beats "coordinated" every time.
- What's actually driving budget scrutiny this year: Why ownership and boards are asking harder questions of revenue and marketing leaders than they have in previous cycles, and what that means for how you build your case.

Joe Pettigrew
Group Chief Commercial Officer, L+R

Joe Pettigrew is Group Chief Commercial Officer at L+R, where he is responsible for maximising the real estate value of 129 hotels and £7B in assets under management by driving revenue at the lowest possible cost. His 20-year career includes nearly 11 years inside the Starwood Capital Group ecosystem, most recently as Chief Commercial Officer and SVP of Hotel Asset Management, and senior leadership roles at YOTEL and EOS Hospitality, with experience across 1,000+ hotels worldwide: multi-brand platforms and individual assets, every hotel chain class, and the management, ownership, and brand sides of the business. That experience produced two frameworks. The Hotel Commercial OS is a practical framework: every commercial decision is measured by its impact on net operating income and asset value. Joe’s Inverse Distribution Theory argues that AI is inverting the hotel distribution funnel, with machines qualifying options before travellers even begin comparing. And a hotel’s experience matters only after it passes the machine’s filter. If the evidence isn’t machine-readable, it’s invisible. Joe also serves on the advisory boards of several hospitality tech companies, such as Oracle, Lighthouse, and Cvent, and writes about macroeconomics, AI, and hotel performance.
